What to expect at Toronto Game Expo (TGE)
If you love playing games, meeting other gamers and looking for a convention that has both – Toronto Game Expo is the place to be.
The Toronto Game Expo (TGE) kicked off its 2025 season with a hugely successful Spring Edition, this biannual event is a must-visit destination for Canadian gamers, collectors and a chance to meet special guests.
Update: The Fall Event is happening on NOV 22 & 23, 2025 – Better Living Centre, Exhibition Place, Toronto.

If this reminds you of the Fan Expo or Comic Con, then you are right on, it’s that but more focused around Video games.
Collector’s Paradise
One of the biggest draws of the TGE Spring Edition was the sheer scale of the shopping available. With over 500 exhibitor tables (According to the TGE website), attendees had a massive selection of merchandise to browse.
- Video Game Vendors: From Current gen console games to retro games t0 even arcade machines there were so many options to choose from. Even if you aren’t looking to buy, just the looking at the catalog of games is an experience on its own.
- Artist Alley: While this is very self explanatory, it is a highlight of the convention, even though I have been to so many conventions, it always amazes me how good these artists are.
Bonus: you get to support your local Canadian artists!
Free Play Video & Table Top Games
A dedicated area offered free play on a variety of gaming systems, including consoles spanning several generations, from retro classics to current-gen hits.
Special shout out to Changeling Gaming who among others offered free tabletop gaming, including popular board games and Dungeons & Dragons meetups, providing a break from the digital action.
Special Guests and Cosplay
I went for Video games I stayed for the Special Guests and the awesome Cosplayers.
The event featured appearances from both gaming voice actors and content creator & a Cosplay Competition with numerous attendees showcasing incredible costumes.
Indie Developers Showcase
I came for this and wasn’t’ disappointed.
Got a glimpse into the future of gaming by visiting the Indie Developers Showcase. This is a fantastic opportunity to play new, unique games by your fellow Canadian Game devs, and to meet the creators behind them. Support up-and-coming talent and provide feedback that could shape the next big hit!
