LG – Razer launch world’s fastest wireless Controller
LG Electronics (LG) has officially launched its “Designed for LG Gaming Portal” certification program, a new initiative aimed at setting a performance gold standard for cloud gaming accessories.
The announcement, made at CES 2026, was highlighted by the debut of the Razer Wolverine V3 Bluetooth, the first controller to receive the certification and the first in the world to feature ultra-low latency Bluetooth technology specifically optimized for smart TVs.
Cloud Gaming Latency Gap
While cloud gaming is still new and might grow in popularity in 2026, hardware latency—the delay between pressing a button and seeing the action on screen—has remained a hurdle for competitive players.
The “Designed for LG Gaming Portal” program addresses this by guaranteeing:
-
Reduced Input Lag: Optimized connectivity specifically for LG’s webOS platform.
-
Seamless Interoperability: Certified devices are tested to ensure instant “plug-and-play” compatibility.
-
Integrated Controls: Built-in TV controls that allow users to navigate the webOS interface without switching remotes.
“The new controller will allow gamers to leverage quick responsiveness and decisive control to turn fast-paced action into a big win,” said Chris Jo, head of the webOS Platform Business Center at LG.
Razer Wolverine V3
Partnering with Razer, LG showcased the Wolverine V3 Bluetooth as the program’s flagship device. It is being marketed as the world’s fastest gaming controller, boasting a response time of less than 3ms.
The controller is designed to pair perfectly with LG’s 2025 and 2026 OLED TV lineups, which recently became the first to support 4K 120Hz HDR cloud gaming. By combining a high-refresh-rate display with a sub-3ms controller, LG is positioning its Smart TVs as a viable alternative to dedicated gaming consoles.
Why This Matters for the Industry
This move marks a significant shift in the “console-less” gaming era. By creating a hardware certification similar to Apple’s “Made for iPhone” (MFi), LG is building an ecosystem that reassures consumers they are getting a premium experience without needing a PlayStation or Xbox.
