Following the celebrations of “MAR10 Day,” the LEGO Group has officially announced Luigi & Mach 8. This release marks the first time the company has produced a large-scale, brick-built recreation of the iconic Mach 8 kart from the Mario Cart.

Designed for adult builders (ages 18+), the set consists of 2,234 pieces. The finished model features a highly posable Luigi figure with a movable head, arms, and hands, allowing fans to display the character “driving” the kart in various action poses.

The Mach 8 kart itself has been meticulously detailed to reflect its digital counterpart, measuring over 10 inches (25 cm) high and 16 inches (41 cm) long. The release aims to capture the nostalgia of the Mario Kart series while providing a complex building experience for the growing “Adults Welcome” segment of the LEGO market.

Expanding the Nintendo Partnership

The announcement comes amid a wave of new Nintendo-themed reveals. In addition to the Mach 8 set, the LEGO Group recently teased the upcoming arrival of the first-ever Super Mario minifigures, signaling a shift from the previous electronic “digital figure” format to a more traditional LEGO scale.

“Start your engines!” the company stated in the release, emphasizing the expansion of the Super Mario universe into more display-focused, intricate models.
