Mad Science Meets Self-Help: “Rogue Psychology”

Ever wondered if a social experiment could solve your dating woes or break your doom-scrolling habit? A new comedic documentary series is betting on it. All six episodes of Rogue Psychology officially launched today, bringing a blend of “bold” (and often questionable) solutions to the internet’s favorite platforms, Cracked.com and YouTube.
Hosted by Jon Neeman, the series takes a “crash-test dummy” approach to personal growth. Rather than offering standard self-help platitudes, Neeman confronts modern dilemmas by testing outlandish hypotheses in the real world.
Experimenting with the Human Condition
Across the 22-minute episodes, the show tackles the universal “vulnerable problems” of the digital age, including:
-
Social Media Addiction: Finding radical ways to unplug.
-
The Friendship Deficit: Testing unconventional methods to build community.
-
Modern Romance: Comedic strategies for finding “the one.”
The format follows a distinct rhythm: Neeman proposes a wild solution, executes a real-world experiment (often with hilarious consequences), and then consults actual experts to see if any real psychological ground was gained.
“The aim was to create a series that tries to solve the vulnerable problems we all share through highly creative approaches,” says Creator and Director Ethan Matthew. “The result is a series that pushes up to the line but never crosses it, all in an effort to improve human behavior.”
A Diverse Cast of Characters
The series bridges the gap between internet culture and traditional expertise. Viewers can expect to see a wide-ranging guest list, including:
-
Marilyn Gross: A 102-year-old community activist providing a century’s worth of perspective.
-
Catherine Gildiner: Renowned psychologist and author.
-
Azaria Niko: Actress and hip-hop artist.
-
Cody Farrugia: Popular internet personality.
