ASUS Announces Zenbook DUO (2026) With Dual 3K OLED Displays and Intel Core Ultra X9

ASUS has officially opened pre-orders for the Zenbook DUO (2026) UX8407, the latest iteration of its dual-screen laptop series. The 2026 model introduces a refined chassis, upgraded silicon from Intel, and a more seamless display integration designed for professional multitasking and creative workflows.
The device is scheduled to begin shipping on April 8, 2026, following the start of pre-orders on March 23.

Dual-Screen Refinements and Build
The core of the Zenbook DUO remains its twin 14-inch 3K ASUS Lumina Pro OLED panels. This year’s model features a 70% reduction in the physical gap between the two screens, creating a more unified workspace when the displays are used in tandem.
Key display specifications include:
Resolution: 2880 x 1800 (3K) per panel.
Refresh Rate: 48–144Hz variable refresh rate (VRR).
Brightness: Up to 1,000 nits peak HDR brightness.
Color Accuracy: 100% DCI-P3 gamut and Pantone Validated.
The 2026 chassis is 5% smaller than its predecessor and is constructed from Ceraluminum™, a material ASUS claims balances the durability of ceramic with the lightness of aluminum. The device also features a redesigned hideaway hinge and an integrated kickstand to support various operating modes.
Performance and AI Capabilities
Under the hood, the flagship variant is powered by the Intel Core Ultra X9 processor 388H, which ASUS reports can achieve up to 180 total TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) for AI-driven tasks. The thermal system has been overhauled with 97-blade fans and CNC-cut vents, allowing for a 28% increase in Total Design Power (TDP) to 45W.
To support the high-power draw of dual OLED panels and a high-performance CPU, ASUS has equipped the Zenbook DUO with a 99Wh dual-battery layout.
Connectivity and User Interface
The laptop includes an upgraded ScreenXpert software suite, which now includes auto-detection tools for sharing and annotation when the hinge is opened beyond 175°. The detachable Bluetooth keyboard has been reinforced and features a new docking system with retractable pogo pins for more consistent charging and physical connection.
For audio, the system utilizes a six-speaker array with Dolby Atmos certification, featuring dual-diaphragm woofers and tweeters integrated into the hinge mechanism.
