Mistfall Hunter is turning into a game to watch out for!

Developer Bellring Games and publisher Skystone Games have provided a status update on Mistfall Hunter, a third-person action RPG that blends extraction mechanics with PvPvE (Player vs. Environment vs. Player) gameplay. According to the latest official announcement, the title is currently scheduled for a July 2026 release, with testing phases to precede the launch.

Gameplay Mechanics and Setting

Mistfall Hunter takes place in a dark fantasy setting defined by “Gyldenmist,” a corrosive force resulting from a war between deities. Players assume the role of “Gyldhunters,” characters tasked with entering corrupted zones to collect “Gyldenblod”- a resource necessary for the world’s restoration.

Core Gameplay and Class Systems

The title positions itself at the intersection of “Souls-like” combat and the “Extraction Shooter” genre. Key features include:

  • Action-RPG Combat: The game utilizes a “precision aiming” system combined with traditional third-person action, allowing players to target specific enemy weak points and chain combos.

  • Diverse Class Selection: At launch, five distinct classes will be available: Mercenary, Sorcerer, Blackarrow, Shadowstrix, and Seer.

  • Customization: Each class can switch between two weapon styles and choose from over 10 unique skills and various talent trees.

  • PvPvE Mechanics: Players can choose to hunt solo or in teams of up to three. The primary goal is to gather loot and reach a “Returner Woodling” to escape; however, falling in battle results in the loss of all collected gear.

Technical and Combat Systems

The developer has highlighted a “precision aiming” system intended to add tactical depth to the third-person combat. At launch, the game is expected to feature five character classes:

  • Mercenary and Sorcerer: Standard melee and magic archetypes.

  • Blackarrow and Shadowstrix: Ranged and stealth-oriented options.

  • Seer: A support-focused class.

To manage the competitive environment, Bellring Games confirmed the implementation of a proprietary kernel-level anti-cheat system.

Our updated plan is to hold the BETA 4 test during Steam Next Fest on June 15, 2026, followed by a simultaneous global launch in July.
