John Krasinski Returns as Jack Ryan in ‘Ghost War’ Feature Film

Amazon MGM Studios has officially announced the transition of its hit series to the big screen with the upcoming feature film, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War. Following a successful four-season run on Prime Video, John Krasinski reprises his role as the titular CIA analyst turned field operative in what is being described as his most personal mission to date.
A Global Conspiracy Unfolds
The film, directed by Andrew Bernstein, finds Jack Ryan pulled back into the world of espionage after an international covert mission unravels, revealing a deadly conspiracy. This time, Ryan is forced to confront a rogue black-ops unit that seems to stay one step ahead of his team.
Unlike the episodic nature of the series, Ghost War is structured as a real-time thriller. With a runtime of 105 minutes, the narrative focuses on a high-stakes race against the clock where the threat escalates at every turn.
Returning Favorites and New Alliances
The film reunites the core ensemble that anchored the Prime Video series:
-
John Krasinski as Jack Ryan
-
Wendell Pierce as James Greer
-
Michael Kelly as Mike November
Joining the franchise is Sienna Miller, who portrays MI6 officer Emma Marlowe. According to the studio, Marlowe is positioned as a “sharp and savvy” counterpart to Ryan, forming a new central partnership as they navigate a web of betrayal and past secrets.
Production and Creative Team
The screenplay was penned by Aaron Rabin and John Krasinski, with a story developed by Noah Oppenheim and Krasinski. The production remains a heavy-hitter collaboration between Allyson Seeger, Andrew Form, and Krasinski, under the executive leadership of Carlton Cuse and the Tom Clancy estate.
The supporting cast features a deep bench of talent, including Max Beesley, JJ Feild, Douglas Hodge, and Betty Gabriel.
