Key PC Performance & Visual Features

Modern Warfare 4 introduces over 800 customization options alongside several PC-specific technical enhancements:

  • Enhanced Field of View (FOV): A PC-exclusive feature using physically accurate lens optics to expand peripheral vision without distortion at the center of the screen.

  • HDR10+ Integration: Dynamically adjusts contrast and brightness in real time based on your display’s profile, removing the need for manual brightness sliders.

  • Upgraded Upscaling Tech: Full support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR Redstone, Intel XeSS 3, and Filmic SMAA T2X.

  • Weapon VFX Masking: Muzzle flash and effects dynamically mask out around your reticle, preserving visual clarity during sustained firing.

  • Split Depth of Field: Controls for World Depth of Field and Weapon Depth of Field are now separate, letting you keep the environment sharp while aiming down sights.

  • Predictive Ballistic Aiming: Bullets now fire directly from the weapon’s barrel position rather than using random bloom cones, creating more intuitive recoil control.

  • In-Game Benchmark Tool: Runs a simulated multiplayer benchmark detailing real-time metrics including average FPS, CPU/GPU usage, ping, and input latency, followed by tailored performance recommendations.

New Multiplayer Mode: Collateral

For competitive players and Search & Destroy fans, MW4 introduces Collateral—an economy-driven, single-life objective mode.

  • No Respawns or Loadouts: Players spawn with a basic pistol and earn cash each round through kills and objective play.

  • Economy Mechanics: Earned cash carries over between rounds to purchase armor, perks, equipment, weapons, and killstreaks (such as UAVs) at the start of each round.

  • High Stakes: Dying means losing your purchased loadout for the next round.

Preload, Early Access, and Release Schedule
