Blacklyte Athena Gaming Chair – Review

Finding the perfect gaming chair for your setup is like looking for a good partner. Sure, there are a lot of fish in the sea, but finding one that feels just right can be hard. And if you spend a good amount of time gaming (like me), it’s all the more important to get yourself a chair that’s both comfortable and supportive for those long hours. So, today we’re taking a look at the Blacklyte Athena Gaming Chair.

Unboxing and Assembly

The assembly process of the Blacklyte Athena chair is straightforward and hassle-free. The package includes a laminated double-sided graphic with easy-to-follow instructions. You can have the chair fully assembled and ready to use in less than 30 minutes. One of the best parts was that it comes with the arm rests already installed which makes it so much easier to finish it up without a hassle.

Design and Build Quality

The Athena Gaming Chair boasts a sleek and modern design made of premium materials from top to bottom. Whether you’re looking at the classy fabric finish on the seat and the back or the base and the structure of the chair, every single thing about this screams high-quality. It also comes with easy to follow instructions that let you put it together without a hassle.

Comfort and Features

The Blacklyte Athena comes with all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a premium gaming chair. The armrests are customizable in every way, you can adjust the height, rotation, even the width. The maximum incline goes up to 168 degrees and it supports a maximum weight of 150kg. You can even lock the wheels in place for those intense gaming sessions where you can’t afford to lose focus.

One of the standout features of the chair is its exceptional comfort. We’ve been using this chair for about a week, and I’ve gotta say, it’s really good. It’s very comfortable from the moment you first sit in it. The fabric is soft and breathable which makes it perfect for me because I personally don’t like the hard leather seats I’ve seen in some other gaming chairs. It’s also going to be a godsend during summer, and I’m sure you know exactly what I mean.

The chair’s ergonomics are another highlight. It comes with a cushion for your head which I personally don’t use much because I’m more comfortable without it, but it’s always good to have that option for those who want it. There’s another cushion for lumbar support that’s also pretty great. I use it depending on how far back I want to sit in the chair, since the lumbar support is bigger, but it has also helped me with some backache so I’m already a fan. We also had our team members and friends try it, and while some people absolutely loved the lumbar support cushion, others were okay without it, so again, it’s amazing to have this option. We would rather have this option than none at all.

Price and Value

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s talk price. The Blacklyte Athena is available on the website for $499 on sale right now. While the regular price tag of $699 might seem a little steep, at about $500 it’s definitely one of the better options available in the market considering the features and quality We would love to see an option for adjustable lumbar support in the future, but with its superb comfort and high-quality finish, you can’t go wrong with the Blacklyte Athena for your gaming setup.
