New Hardware: Independent 4G AI Wearables by Mobvoi : TechGoggles

Mobvoi Inc. officially introduced its TicNote product line at the Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel during CES 2026. The launch includes a new 4G-enabled earbud system, a specialized smartwatch, and a cloud-based platform designed to integrate AI-driven transcription and task management into professional workflows.

The event, centered on the theme of “AI-Native Document Collaboration,” showcased how the company intends to move beyond basic audio recording toward a system that structures and executes tasks based on conversational data.

Expanded Hardware Portfolio

The company highlighted three primary devices within the TicNote ecosystem, each targeting different user scenarios:

TicNote Pods: These 4G eSIM-enabled earbuds are designed to operate independently of a smartphone. They feature a dual-recording system that allows for the capture of digital meetings through the earbuds or ambient environmental audio via the charging case. Shipping for the Pods is expected to begin in early 2026.
TicNote Watch: Positioned as an AI note-taking smartwatch, this device provides one-press recording and real-time transcription from the wrist. It is designed to sync with the broader TicNote lineup while integrating voice data with health and activity metrics. The official launch date is currently pending.
TicNote Recorder: The original dedicated hardware in the series, available since April 2025, continues to serve as the primary tool for long-form interviews and stationary meeting recordings.

Software Integration and Shadow Agent 2.0

Central to the hardware rollout is the introduction of TicNote Cloud and Shadow Agent 2.0. Mobvoi representatives stated that the platform is intended to differentiate itself from standard AI chatbots by converting conversational context into persistent, editable project files.

Shadow Agent 2.0 utilizes multiple Large Language Models (LLMs) including Claude, Gemini, and GPT-to perform cross-file updates and manage project assets. According to the company, the agent is designed to act as an active participant in shared workspaces, allowing teams to turn recorded discussions into shared documents and task lists in real-time.

Data Privacy and Technical Specifications

During a Q&A session, Mobvoi addressed concerns regarding data handling and AI processing. The company confirmed that:

Data Storage: All data is stored on U.S.-based cloud infrastructure.
AI Processing: Raw audio is used solely for transcription; LLMs only process text transcripts when a user manually initiates a request for a summary or analysis.
Connectivity: The TicNote Pods include 4G connectivity as part of the product and subscription, removing the need for a separate cellular plan.

The system supports real-time translation for dozens of languages, including Mandarin, English, French, and German, with post-recording translation support for over 100 languages.
