Beyond The Wire – Review
There is nothing new or exciting about Beyond the Wire’s take on the FPS formula. First-person shooter fans should be able to jump right in and enjoy the game’s mechanics.

Upon first glance, the game appears to be extremely well-designed and visually appealing. There are some issues with the game’s performance, including frequent drops in frame rate. Some gamers have complained that the frame rate drops significantly on certain maps and in certain situations, making the games unplayable. FPS drops of this magnitude have never occurred to me, but I have experienced performance deterioration under similar circumstances. However, it is important to keep in mind that the game is still in beta.

When it comes to gaming sensations, this one is hard to beat. Your teammate in the hole next to you has been mowed down by an MG and is screaming for a medic as you huddle in a shell crater in the middle of no man’s land. You grip your mouse a little tighter and prepare yourself for the final dash across the open ground and into the enemy trench, bayonet at the ready. This kind of stuff gets your heart racing.

There isn’t a large player base, but there are a few popular servers where some cueing is to be expected, but nothing major or with long wait times. As a whole, the community is friendly and welcoming, with the occasional TK’er, D-bag, and mic spammer, but it’s not a regular occurrence. Mic spammers, you can simply mute.
With a friendly community and a few active servers, you can expect battles with 60 to 75+ players on a regular basis. You can expect frame rate drops, strange behaviour from some of the placeables, and other glitches because the game is buggy and not well optimised yet.
I’d give it a solid 7/10 at this point in time.
